This is another of hubby’s homemade rice cooker meals, Papa’s Clam Pilaf Dinner:

For the meal hubby steamed diced pork, clams, rice, water, sliced enoki, maitake, and shitake mushrooms, bonito dashi, white wine, and soy sauce in a rice cooker; when finished, the mixture was combined with grated parmesan cheese and chopped scallions; added a small iceberg lettuce, arugula, sliced cucumber, cherry tomato, and chopped scallion salad drizzled with a creamy French dressing; and completed the meal with a small bowl of instant miso soup.

This meal consisted of steamed green beans and flour-dredged chicken sautéed in olive oil with white pepper smothered in a cream, white pepper, butter, and scallion sauce and garnished with grated parmesan cheese; freshly steamed rice garnished with dried parsley flakes; and a small salad of iceberg lettuce, sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and snipped leek drizzled in a cremay French-style dressing.

This meal consisted of chopped pork and potatoes simmered in a mixture of white onion slices, bonito dashi, chicken bouillon granules, white pepper, soy sauce, mixed vegetable juice, white wine, minced garlic paste, and water; strained and tossed with Dijon mustard; placed on a bed of freshly-steamed rice; and garnished with dried parsley flakes.

This meal by hubby combined leftover Obon goodies with instant soup and a new way to cook a favorite dish, Papa’s Steamed Chicken-Rice Dinner:

Inspired by a local satellite TV show, hubby steamed rice, chopped chicken, mirin, dashi, sliced dehydrated Shitake mushrooms, and soy sauce in a rice cooker and garnished the dish with chopped fresh scallions; added a side plate of reheated frozen leftover Obon goodies – kamaboko, pork, tempura, tofu, etc.; and completed the meal with an instant suimono soup.

This meal consisted of thinly-sliced pork sautéed in sesame oil with minced garlic paste, minced ginger paste, and white pepper; combined with kimchi; layered on a bed of freshly-steamed rice; topped with bean sprouts, olive oil sautéed shishito, sliced leek, and cracked black sesame seeds; accompanied by a small salad of iceberg lettuce, quartered cherry tomatoes, and snipped scallions with a creamy sesame dressing.

This dish consisted of frozen shrimp and assorted julienned bell peppers sautéed in sesame oil with sliced leek, minced garlic paste, minced ginger paste, dried red pepper flakes, white pepper, lemon juice, dill weed, crushed peanuts, chicken broth, leftover pre-cooked rice, cherry tomatoes, Japanese pizza melt-cheese, and grated parmesan cheese added and garnished with snipped shiso leaves.
