Here’s a simple and tasty meal by hubby that contained take-out and home-cooked dishes, Papa’s Mix ‘n’ Match Dinner:

The meal consisted of boiled fresh corn-on-the-cob with butter; a salad of iceberg lettuce, quartered cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and chopped scallions with a creamy sesame-cheese dressing; and KFC chicken and fries.

Here are more local take-out foods available for easy eating at any hour. Included are a jumbo deep-fried chicken cutlet (this one was a little bit longer than a set of chopsticks) on a bed of shredded cabbage and a side of mustard greens.

Some of the local grocery store side-dishes that we eat when we get an attack of the munchies including a seaweed-konyaku mix, deep-fried chicken chucks, a green beans-carrot mix and green bean tenpura.

The meal contained chicken chunks sautéed in olive oil with diced carrot and white onion, chicken bouillon granules, bonito dashi, soy sauce, minced garlic paste, and leftover pre-cooked rice; take-out shrimp and green bean tenpura from a local vendor; and instant miso soup.

This local supermarket’s version of combination pizza had the usual tomato sauce, cheese, onion, mushroom, sausage, and Italian spice…but, it also included corn niblets and broccoli flowerettes.

This is another of the local mini-bento meals with deep fried fish amd tartar sauce, hamburger and ketchup, tenpura, rice with a mini bottle of soy sauce, dried seaweed sheets, and pickled radish (again a bit lacking in the veggie department).
