When I went to upload to the photo section of the blog yesterday, I found an intriguing e-mail. An offer from Hellmann’s to submit some of the food pics for consideration to be featured on their “Real Food” campaign for the Yahoo Food site. Since I am a complete novice at this, I was quite surprised and honored. Yet, the whole idea was perplexing as well. Even though I am full of gratitude for the invitation, I really don’t think that the arrangement would work. Hellmann’s is a brand name, and if you notice, I usually don’t include named products on my recipes. The reason for that is I am on an island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The acquisition of food supplies tends to be a get-it-when-you-can (and sometimes a person can only find items once) proposition here. One of the things that Hubby and I wanted to accomplish in our culinary journey was to create new edibles from everyday items found in most local supermarkets – in other words, not specialty items. For the most part, we have been able to achieve that goal. I do have to add, we have a slight advantage in creating new fused edibles in that I have had to learn to substitute for what would be considered everyday items in many other locations since 1974. Even though now-a-days the culinary item selection has increased in many ways, it is still limited in others. So now I’m sure you can understand the dilemma. However, if any of you are interested in two novice cooks’ island food fusion ideas, than please feel free to look around and substitute your favorite brand for the generic item listed in the recipe.
I recently upgraded to the new WordPress 2.2.2 and there are a few differences that need to be worked out, such as pages (which were placed in the Odds & Ends category). Thank you for your patience while these kinks are being adjusted…
I just upgraded to the new WordPress 2.0.4 version today. If you run into any problems or bugs, please let me know. Thank you.

I added a new category to the pages section, Internet Window Shopping. The category will include some of the more interesting cooking oriented items and sites that I find while surfing the WWW.
The first page is dedicated to various aspects of toasters. I hope you enjoy it.
A listing of various gadgets, appliances, and kitchenwares that I find interesting as I go window shopping on the internet:
